State Department For Higher Education Monitoring & Evaluation Exercise at University of Kabianga
The State Department for Higher Education concluded a successful week-long Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) exercise at the University of Kabianga (UoK), held from May 4th to May 8th, 2026.
The work visit aimed at assessing the progress of ongoing reforms in higher education, specifically focusing on the implementation of recommendations from the Presidential Working Party on Education Reform. A key highlight of the evaluation was the university's preparedness for the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework.
The M&E team, led by Ms. Scholastica Ndambuki accompanied by Mr. Denis Muchiri and Mr. Richard Mogambi, engaged in productive sessions with the UoK management team which included:
Prof. Dr. Fredrick Kassilly who represented the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eric Koech (PhD; MBS), Prof. Isaac Mwamzandi represented the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Planning, Research & Development, Prof. Peter Sirmah represented the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration & Finance and other key academic and administrative heads.
The insights gathered during the exercise will play an important role in shaping the future of higher education policies and programmes.
