KRA Partners with University of Kabianga to Train Student Tax Ambassadors
On Thursday 14th May, 2026, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) conducted a training under the "File It Yourself" programme at the University of Kabianga. The aim of the initiative was to empower students with essential tax literacy, transforming members of the Tax Society into Tax Ambassadors who are ready to navigate the iTax platform and lead peer-to-peer outreach.
The KRA team from the head office was received by the University administration led by Ms. Priscah Sang’ (Senior Administration Officer) who represented the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eric Koech (PhD; MBS) flanked by Rev. Samson Abong’ (the University Chaplain), a representative of the Dean of Students Dr. Peter Ngugi. Also in attendance to support the initiative was Mr. Erick Makokha from the Office of the Dean of Students, whose presence highlighted the University's commitment to ensure students graduate with practical, real-world civic skills.
Facilitators from KRA’s Civic Education and Tax Outreach section included Ms. Brenda Mutai, Ms. Mary Njeri, Ms. Diana Mutua and Ms. Rose Nyanchama. Through two intensive sessions, the delegation provided students with the hands-on knowledge needed to make tax filing a seamless process for the entire campus community.
The partnership between KRA and the University of Kabianga is a major step towards building a culture of tax compliance and literacy.
Congratulations to the new Tax Ambassadors.
