University of Kabianga Concludes First ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit
The University of Kabianga (UoK) concluded its 1st ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit, a two-day exercise held on May 14th and 15th, 2026. The important milestone reflected UoK's unwavering commitment to maintain high standards in training, research and extension services.
The exercise was conducted by a professional audit team from the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), led by Mr. David Kasyoki and Ms. Winfrida Nyangena who examined the institutional systems with great diligence.
During the closing meeting held at the Senate Chambers, the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eric Koech (PhD; MBS) expressed his gratitude to the KEBS team for their objective review and partnership in the journey towards excellence. He highlighted that the audit served as a critical benchmark to assess the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and ensured processes remain robust, efficient and fully compliant with international standards.
The Vice-Chancellor also extended his appreciation to the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Process Owners and Auditees for their transparency and cooperation throughout the audit. As an institution, Audit findings are essential tools for growth since they help in identifying both strengths and areas for improvement. The University of Kabianga remains dedicated to the continuous improvement of internal processes to serve students, staff and stakeholders more effectively.
