University of Kabianga Council Chairman Visits Kericho and Sotik Campuses

The University of Kabianga Council Chairman Prof. Bosire Mwebi recently made a significant visit to the University’s Kericho Town and Sotik campuses. He was accompanied by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Eric Koech (Ph.D,MBS) along with Deputy Vice Chancellors Prof. Maurice OduorProf. Paul Onsare and Prof. Isaac Naibei.

At the Kericho Town Campus, the Chairman conducted an information check on the MyLoft library software, a digital resource platform currently in use at the campus. The visit highlighted the University's commitment to enhancing access to digital learning tools and improving the academic experience for students and the faculty.

Later in the day, Prof. Mwebi visited the Sotik Campus Research Centre, where he was warmly received by the area Member of Parliament, Honourable Ambassador Francis Sigei. During the visit, the Chairman was briefed on the campus's history and milestones. Notably, Honourable Ambassador Sigei provided an update on the progress made in acquiring the title deed for a 5-acre parcel of land earmarked for the University’s expansion. The Chairman was also taken on a brief tour of the site.

The visit concluded with a meeting involving members of the local community, who expressed strong support for the proposal to elevate the Sotik Campus Research Centre to a fully-fledged campus. The engagement underscored the importance of higher education in regional development and the shared vision of expanding the University’s presence and impact in the area.
